If you sell to B2B (company) customers, their prices are usually already set by a catalog and price list attached to their company location. Because volume pricing normally applies on top of the price a customer sees, a B2B buyer could receive their negotiated catalog price and an extra volume discount, double-discounting your bulk orders.
The Exclude B2B customers setting prevents this. When enabled, volume pricing is skipped entirely for B2B customers, so they only pay their catalog price.
This setting affects both:
Whether the discount applies in cart and checkout
Whether volume pricing is shown on product pages
Control whether B2B (company) customers receive volume pricing.
Open the MNML Volume Pricing app in your Shopify admin
Go to Settings
Find the B2B & catalog customers section
Enable Exclude B2B (company) customers
Save changes
When enabled (default)
Any customer purchasing on behalf of a company (a B2B buyer with a company location) is skipped. They keep their catalog / price list pricing with no volume discount added on top. The volume pricing widget and subtotal are also hidden from these customers on the storefront.
When disabled
B2B customers are treated like everyone else and can receive volume pricing when they meet the quantity requirement.
This works in both Discount mode and Price Update mode.
A customer is treated as B2B when they are signed in and purchasing for a company location (Shopify B2B). Company locations are always backed by a catalog and price list, which is why this setting is the reliable way to prevent stacking.
Regular (direct-to-consumer) customers and guests are not affected - they continue to receive volume pricing as normal.
This setting targets B2B company customers. If you use custom catalogs for regular (non-B2B) customers, for example a market, or customer-specific price lists, those buyers can't be detected automatically at checkout.
To exclude them, use the existing customer controls instead:
Customer eligibility → restrict volume pricing to specific customer segments (so catalog customers are left out)
Hide widget by customer tag → hide the widget from those customers on product pages
See Restrict Volume Pricing to Specific Customers for how to set these up.
B2B exclusion stops the discount from applying and hides the widget for signed-in B2B customers.
A B2B customer browsing while logged out may still see the widget (Shopify can't yet identify them), but they will not receive the volume discount once they sign in and check out.
